Two EMDR Consultation Opportunities
Many clinicians complete EMDR Basic Training feeling excited, inspired, and ready to begin integrating EMDR into their practice.
Then reality happens.
Clients present with complex histories. Memories don’t cluster as neatly as they did in training. Processing gets blocked. Dissociation appears. Targets become difficult to identify. Treatment plans start to feel overwhelming.
If you’ve ever found yourself thinking, “I learned this in training, but I’m not sure what to do with this particular client,” you’re not alone.
One of the most common experiences I see among clinicians after EMDR Basic Training is the gap between understanding the EMDR protocol and applying it confidently in real-world clinical practice.
This is where EMDR consultation becomes invaluable.
Consultation is not about having all the answers. It’s about having a place to think through cases, strengthen clinical reasoning, and continue developing your confidence as an EMDR therapist.
Group Consultation Opportunity #1: Lunch & Learn Series
The EMDR Lunch & Learn Series Group was created for clinicians who want practical tools they can begin using with clients immediately. This one-hour group will meet once a month for three consecutive months. Over the three months, I will provide an introduction to three foundational concepts from the House Within Conceptual Framework:
#1 House Within Nervous System Assessment (July 2026 Group)
Many clinicians are taught to identify symptoms. Fewer are taught how to organize those symptoms through a nervous system lens.
In this group consultation, we will discuss how the House Within Nervous System Assessment can help clinicians understand whether a client is primarily operating from mobilization, shutdown, or regulation. This assessment can help guide treatment planning, preparation, and the selection of interventions.
#2 House Within Levels of Readiness (August 2026 Group)
One of the most important questions in EMDR therapy is not “Can this client do EMDR?” The question is: “How ready is this client for trauma processing right now?”
Readiness is not an all-or-nothing concept. We will touch on how the House Within Level of Readiness can assist in assessing a client’s capacity for emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and recovery, and identify any additional preparation needed before reprocessing begins.
#3 House Within Clustering (September 2026 Group)
Many clients arrive with multiple symptoms, concerns, and targets.
- Anxiety
- Relationship struggles.
- People-pleasing.
- Perfectionism.
- Shame.
- Trauma.
Rather than treating each issue separately, clinicians can learn to identify the underlying themes and memory networks connecting them.
Clustering helps organize complex clinical presentations into a coherent treatment plan and often leads to more efficient target selection.
Group Consultation Opportunity #2: EMDR Drop-In Consultation Group
Not every clinician is looking for a long-term consultation commitment. Sometimes you simply want a place to ask questions, discuss a case, or receive support from other EMDR clinicians. The EMDR Drop-In Consultation Group was designed for exactly that purpose.
This group provides an opportunity to:
- Discuss challenging cases
- Strengthen treatment planning skills
- Explore target selection questions
- Increase confidence with EMDR protocols
- Connect with other clinicians using EMDR
Whether you are newly trained or have years of experience, consultation can help you continue growing as a clinician.
A Special Offer for Recent EMDR Graduates
Many clinicians benefit from additional support during the first year after training as they begin applying EMDR in practice.
If you completed an EMDRIA-approved Basic Training within the past year, your first EMDR Drop-In Consultation Group is free. Simply email me and request your code. This offer is valid now through December 31, 2026.
Continued Learning Happens in Community
Clinical growth does not happen in isolation. It happens through curiosity, reflection, collaboration, and the willingness to keep learning.
Whether you’re looking for practical tools, deeper case-conceptualization skills, or a supportive place to discuss cases, consultation can provide the structure and community that help bridge the gap between training and confidence.
I would love to have you join us.
Ready to Continue Building Your EMDR Skills?
Most EMDR therapists leave training with excitement, curiosity, and a few unanswered questions. That’s normal.
Clinical confidence develops through experience, reflection, and consultation.
If you’re looking for practical tools, thoughtful case discussion, and a supportive learning environment, I invite you to join me for either the House Within Lunch & Learn Series or the EMDR Drop-In Consultation Group.
Whether you’re working toward certification or simply want support in your EMDR practice, there is a place for you here.
